Moscow will support nothing on Syria that is against international law - Putin

HANGZHOU. Sept 5 (Interfax) - Russia will support no resolution on Syria that runs counter to international law, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.

"We cannot be 100% and ultimately certain of anyone's goals [in Syria]. But we are having dialogue on Syrian issues both with our Turkish and American partners. We neither support, nor will be able to support whatever runs counter to international law," Putin told a press conference after the G20 summit.

"Nonetheless, we do have some closeness of positions and an understanding of what we could do to defuse the situation in Syria and to find mutually acceptable solutions," the president said.
