Abbas-Netanyahu Moscow's talks set on Sept 9 delayed indefinitely - Palestinian ambassador

MOSCOW. Sept 5 (Interfax) - The direct talks between the leaders of Palestine and Israel in Moscow have been set on September 9, but are delayed due to Tel-Aviv's position, the new date of talks is not determined yet, Palestinian Ambassador to Russia Abdel Hafiz Nofal said.

"We think that as soon as Mr. Bogdanov [Mikhail Bogdanov, the Russian special presidential representative for the Middle East and African countries, the deputy foreign minister] returns from Israel, where he is staying now, we will be able to learn exactly when a meeting will take place. Before this, we planned that the meeting will be held on September 9 that is the day after tomorrow. But due to Israel's decision to take a pause and think over its consent, the Russian side is preparing the new date of the meeting," Nofal said in an interview with Interfax.

Asked whether there is any timeframe for the talks, the ambassador said: "No, there is none of it yet."
