TBILISI. Sept 5 (Interfax) - A multinational military exercise, Agile Spirit-2016, involving Georgian, American, Ukrainian, Romanian, Latvian and Bulgarian troops, is taking place at the Orfolo army training site in Georgia.
The field drill in offensives and defensives held on Monday are led by Georgian Armed Forces General Staff representatives and U.S. Naval Infantry officers, a spokesperson for the Georgian defense ministry said.
"The purpose of the exercise is to practice skills in joint actions of the multinational forces during offensive and defensive operations," the spokesperson said.
The exercise at Orfolo, which involves U.S. armored personnel carriers and artillery weapons brought from Bulgaria, is due to end on September 9.
