ROSTOV-ON-DON. Sept 5 (Interfax) - A militant, who resisted the servicemen of the federal forces, has been eliminated in the Samur forest in Dagestan's Magaramkent district, where an anti-terrorism operation mode is in effect, a source in regional law enforcement agencies told Interfax.
"During the clash, which took place in the first half of the day on Monday in the area of the Samur forest, when an armed man opened fire on the servicemen of the federal forces, he has been eliminated in the retaliatory fire," he said.
This is already the third member of the criminal underworld, which was eliminated over the past 24 hours during the anti-terrorist operation in Dagestan's Magaramkent district, he said.
"According to preliminary reports, this participant of the criminal underworld has been a member of the southern gang, which acted in the Magaramkent district of the republic," the source said.
