MOSCOW. Sept 6 (Interfax-AVN) - Six violations of the Syria truce have been observed in the past 24 hours, in Damascus and Latakia, the Russian Defense Ministry said.
"The cessation of hostilities regime was complied with in a majority of provinces in the Syrian Arab Republic over the past day. Six violations were observed in the provinces of Damascus (five) and Latakia (one)," the Russian center for reconciliation of opposing sides in Syria said in a bulletin.
Formations from the Jaysh al-Islam group identifying itself as opposition fired mortars and multiple rocket launchers on the populated localities of Haush-Duarah, Duma, Nashabiyah, Harasta and Jaubar in the Damascus province. Armed formations from the Ahrar ash-Sham group fired on Rasha in the Latakia province, it said.
"The Russian Aerospace Forces and the Syrian Air Force did not strike on opposition paramilitary units which had declared the cessation of hostilities and had informed either the Russian or U.S. reconciliation center about their location," the Russian Defense Ministry said.
