MOSCOW. Oct 26 (Interfax-AVN) - Sixty-one attacks of militants were observed in Syria in the past 24 hours, the Russian Defense Ministry said.
"A total of 61 attacks by illegal armed units were observed in the provinces of Aleppo (26), Damascus (21), Hama (11) and Latakia (three) over the past day," the Russian center for reconciliation of opposing sides in Syria said in a bulletin published on the Russian Defense Ministry's website on Tuesday.
Armed formations which had declared adherence to the cessation of hostilities fired tank weapons, improvised multiple rocket launchers, tube artillery, mortars and small arms on the town of Azizi and the Hai al-Antari district in the city of Aleppo in the Aleppo province, it said.
"The populated localities of Jaubar and Kafr Batna, height 612, positions of governmental forces near Duma, and Kusair farms were attacked in the Damascus province, in addition to the towns of Rasha and Ain and Mount Abu Ali in the Latakia province," the bulletin said.
Armed formations of terrorist groups fired improvised multiple rocket launchers, Hellfire missile systems, a Gvozdika self-propelled artillery system, tube artillery, mortars and small arms on the towns of Hananu Shimaliya, al-Khader, Bakirtaya, Maarata, and Shurfa in the Aleppo province, it said.
Attacks were conducted on the districts of 1070 (twice), Hai al-Ansari, Ashrafiyah, Suleiman Khalabi (twice), 3000, Ramusi and Sheikh Maqsood of the city of Aleppo, a SYRIATEL mobile communication station, a TV tower and a market in the Hai al-Antari district, the al-Assad military academy (twice), the Castello shopping center (three times), cement plant warehouses, and positions of governmental troops in the 1070 district area in the city of Aleppo, the Russian Defense Ministry said.
"In the Damascus province, attacks were conducted against the towns of Harasta and Haush Nasri, positions of governmental forces near Bir al-Sabil, Duma and Jaubar (five times), the Ibn al-Walid hospital (twice), the Agriculture Institute in Haush Harabu, farms in Bala al-Kadima (twice), and al-Wafidin camp near Mazraat Makhmud," the bulletin said.
In the Hama province, the terrorists fired on the towns of Makharda (twice), Maan, Kaukab (twice), a thermal power station in Makharda (three times), and a railway station in Kaukab (three times), it said.
"The Aleppo city administration, jointly with the Russian center for reconciliation of opposing sides, organized the evacuation of 48 civilians from the Bustan al-Kasr district in the period from 9:30 till 10:00 on October 24, 2016," the bulletin said.
The Russian Aerospace Forces and the Syrian Air Force did not strike armed opposition units which had declared adherence to the cessation of hostilities and had informed either the Russian or U.S. reconciliation center of their location.
"Reconciliation agreements were signed with representatives of five populated localities in the provinces of Latakia (three) and Homs (two) during the day," the bulletin said.
The number of populated localities engaged in the reconciliation process has grown to 847. Negotiations on joining the cessation of hostilities regime continued with the field commanders of illegal armed units in the town of Muaddamet al-Shikh in the Damascus province and armed opposition units in the provinces of Homs, Hama, Aleppo and al-Quneitra.
"About 1 tonne of humanitarian aid was delivered to the civilian population of Shahba in the As-Suwayda province. Some 120 kilograms of humanitarian cargo (120 sets of bed linen) were brought to a military hospital in Zigrin in the Latakia province, the Russian Defense Ministry said.
