DONETSK. Nov 1 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian army's mortars and artillery shelled the territory of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) overnight.
"In the period from 7 p.m. till 2 a.m. the Ukrainian army was shelling the industrial zone near Yasynuvata, the Donetsk airport outskirts, the Trudovske, Oleksandrivka and Staromykhailivka neighborhoods in the west of Donetsk, Spartak north of Donetsk, and Sakhanka and Leninske in the Novoazovsk district in the south of the DPR. The Ukrainian army fired 268 122mm and 152mm artillery projectiles and 82mm and 120mm mortar mines on those areas," the Donetsk news agency said with reference to DPR security agencies.
Weapons of infantry combat vehicles, grenade launchers and small arms were also engaged in the attacks, it said.
