ST. PETERSBURG. Nov 15 (Interfax) - Interpol national central bureau employees detained a Tajik citizen suspected of terrorism in St. Petersburg on Tuesday, a source with knowledge of the situation told Interfax.
"Citizen Mirzoyev, who was born in 1991, was detained at Pulkovo Airport. According to the Interpol database, he is on an international wanted list within the scope of an investigation into a criminal case on a number of articles [of the Criminal Code]," he said.
In particular, the detainee is suspected of carrying out recruitment into a terrorist organization and the organizing of terrorist acts, the source also said.
The initiator of the search has been notified about the detention of Mirzoyev.
