Russian defense import-substitution program to be fully closed in 2018 - Kozhin

MOSCOW. Dec 19 (Interfax-AVN) - The sanctions imposed against Russia have not affected volumes of Russian arms sales, Vladimir Kozhin, presidential aide for military-technical cooperation, told journalists after presenting Golden Idea awards on Monday.

"The import-substitution program will be fully closed in 2018," he said.

The reason why the sanctions have not effected the military-technical cooperation is because Russia develops such cooperation mainly with countries that are not going to introduce sanctions against our country, Kozhin said.

"Our main partners are China, India, Vietnam, Algeria. Malaysia, Indonesia are seriously keen," he said.
