Russian defense minister compares certain NATO drills to Nazi Germany's methods

MOSCOW. Dec 22 (Interfax) - Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu has described the anti-Russian nature of military exercises held by NATO member countries as inadmissible.

"NATO has doubled the intensity of military exercises, most of which are anti-Russian; for instance, the British army is using Russian tanks and military uniforms to designate hostiles on the Salisbury Plain range. The same technique was previously used by Nazi Germany in the WWII years," Shoigu said at an expanded meeting of the Russian Defense Ministry's board on Thursday.

"None of the exercises held by foreign states has passed unnoticed, especially if they occurred in border regions," he said.

"The outcome of every drill has been analyzed and taken into consideration in combat training of forces," Shoigu said.
