Putin hopes for normalization of Russia-U.S. relations (Part 2)

MOSCOW. Dec 23 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin is expecting Russia-U.S. relations to normalize and is ready to visit the United States if he is invited by U.S. President-elect Donald Trump.

Putin was asked after the press conference whether or not he would accept a possible invitation from Trump to visit the United States.

"Of course, I will if he invites me," Putin said.

He was also asked what he expected from relations with the United States next year.

"[I am expecting] a change in our interstate relations and a shift to the track of normal interstate contacts for solving the problems faced by our country and the entire world, primarily in the areas of security and sustainable economic growth; we have many subjects for joint work," Putin said.
