Russia-Turkey-Iran format specifically important for fighting terrorism in Syria, Iraq - Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Bogdanov

MOSCOW. Dec 26 (Interfax) - The Russia-Turkey-Iran cooperation format is especially important for the fight against terrorism in Syria and Iraq, Russian Special Presidential Representative for the Middle East and African Countries, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov said.

"[...] Now the Russia-Iran-Turkey format is very important, because there are some possibilities to coordinate anti-terrorism activity with us on the Syrian territory and on the Iraqi territory," Bogdanov said in an interview with Interfax.

"There are several subtle moments, this is the Kurdish issue, and the observance of sovereignty of some or another country, because we stand for a broad anti-terrorism front, where the national forces from Syria and Iraq led by the governments in Damascus and Baghdad would play the pivotal role, because this is their countries and their territory," Bogdanov said.
