Mass burials of people with signs of torture found in Aleppo - Russian Defense Ministry (Part 2)

MOSCOW. Dec 26 (Interfax) - The Russian military have discovered ammunition depots, heavy weapons and mass burials in districts of Aleppo liberated from militants.

"The results of the first examination of the Aleppo districts abandoned by the so-called opposition are likely to shock many people," Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Gen. Maj. Igor Konashenkov said.

"Mass burials of many dozens of Syrians who were subjected to barbaric torture and reprisals were found. Many of them are missing body parts, the majority were shot in the head," he said.

Konashenkov said that "seven enormous depots with ammunition which would be enough to arm several infantry battalions, as well as a large number of reports" were found in the Aleppo districts liberated from militants.

He said that during the final days, while the Russian officers were organizing the arrival of buses to Aleppo districts controlled by militants, they were laying a minefield in the territory.

"They planted mines virtually everywhere they had time and ammunitions for: streets, entrances to buildings, cars, motorcycles lying on the roads and even children's toys," Konashenkov said.

"A total of three tanks, two artillery pieces, two multiple rocket launcher systems and a countless number of improvised mortars and rocket systems were found in the tiniest patch of land in the territory of the city," he said.

Konashenkov said that the crimes of militants in Aleppo are being recorded so that "the European protectors of the so-called opposition in London and Paris would be well aware who their proteges really are and take responsibility for their atrocities."

"The only ones we still cannot find in eastern Aleppo are the so-called 'volunteer rescue workers' from 'the White Helmets' who were given a big reception in the best houses of Paris and London and nearly nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize," he said.

"The conclusion of the humanitarian operation unparalleled in scale and content carried out by the Russian Center for Reconciliation in Aleppo will destroy many myths which Western politicians have fed to the global community for several years," Konashenkov said.
