MOSCOW. Dec 28 (Interfax-AVN) - The Kumertau Aircraft Plant (KumAPP) will deliver the first batch of Kamov Ka-32A11VS multirole helicopters to China before the end of this year, a representative of Russian Helicopters Holding (MOEX: VERR) told Interfax.
"Before the end of 2016, KumAPP will deliver the first batch of Kamov Ka-32A11VS multirole helicopters to China under a contract signed in 2015. In 2017 KumAPP will continue to fulfill current export contracts and hopes to enter into new agreements on the delivery of Kamov Ka-32A11VS helicopters, in addition to capital repairs and modernization of Kamov Ka-28 helicopters for a foreign customer," he quoted KumAPP Managing Director Yury Pustovgarov as saying.
In addition, the plant will continue to modernize Kamov Ka-27 helicopters next year, he said.
"In 2017 we are expecting to increase deliveries by 45% in money terms in comparison to 2016. We have no problem with orders for our industrial facilities," the managing director said.
According to the Russian Helicopters representative, Holding CEO Alexander Mikheyev and Bashkortostan Head Rustam Khamitov have discussed the development of the helicopter industry in the republic, including the current situation at the Kumertau Aircraft Plant.
"I'd like to underscore that KumAPP has proposed to resume production of a new type of the Kamov Ka-27M anti-sub warfare helicopter. The plant fulfilled a profound modernization contract and repaired a batch of Kamov Ka-29 helicopters in 2016. Besides, KumAPP continues to master production of new vehicles," Mikheyev said.
This year, the plant manufactured the first Kamov Ka-226T seaborne light helicopter with a fold rotor system and new avionics, he said.
"We are awaiting high demand for this helicopter on the part of Russian and foreign customers as a vehicle for the Coast Guard and other law enforcement agencies. We think this helicopter has great potential. We also continue to work on the production of the Kamov Ka-226T baseline modification at KumAPP," Mikheyev said.
