Stepanakert refutes Azerbaijan's reports about shelling of village

YEREVAN. Dec 29 (Interfax) - The Defense Ministry of the unrecognized Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) has rejected the Azerbaijani report about the shelling of the Akhmedagali village.

"The information distributed by Azerbaijani media today about the Armenian forces' gunfire in the direction of Agdam that resulted in a house in the Akhmedagali village catching fire is nothing but a primitive propagandistic trick in order to disorient Azerbaijani society and international community," the NKR Defense Ministry said in a statement released on Thursday.

Despite "provocative steps", which the Azerbaijani Armed Forces are occasionally taking, the NKR Army of Defense advanced forces have not undertaken any retaliatory actions on Wednesday and Thursday.

"The NKR Armed Forces continue to observe the ceasefire regime, confidently performing their combat task. At the present moment the situation is calm on the frontline," the statement said.
