Lavrov, Cavusoglu highlight importance of ceasefire observance by all opposition groups in Syria

MOSCOW. Dec 30 (Interfax) - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu continued discussing problems related to Syria in a telephone conversation on Friday.

"The ministers continued to discuss a set of issues related to the implementation of the provisions of the documents signed on December 29 between the Syrian government and the opposition via Moscow's and Ankara's mediation and taking into account the negotiations between the foreign and defense ministers of Russia, Turkey, and Iran on December 20," the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement available on its website.

Lavrov and Cavusoglu "emphasized how important it is for all opposition groups to observe the ceasefire and manifest constructive approaches in the context of preparations for the upcoming meeting in Astana," the ministry said.
