Aircraft carrier group with over 40 aircraft returning to Severomorsk from Mediterranean - Russian Defense Ministry

MOSCOW. Jan 12 (Interfax) - More than 40 aircraft are heading from the Mediterranean Sea back to Russia along with the Russian Northern Fleet's aircraft carrier assault group, Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Maj. Gen. Igor Konashenkov said.

"The Northern Fleet's aircraft carrier assault group, which includes the heavy aircraft carrying cruiser Admiral Kuznetsov and more than 40 ship-based aircraft, which were used to carry out strikes on international terrorist groups, has been on its way back to its permanent base in Severomorsk since January 6," he said.
