KYIV. Jan 12 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian Security Service will not leave unnoticed the release by independent parliamentarian Nadiya Savchenko of the lists of captured Ukrainians and their personal data, Yuri Tandit, an advisor to the head of the Ukrainian Security Service, said.
"The main investigative directorate of the Ukrainian Security Service is determining a legal assessment of the fact of Savchenko having publicized the lists of hostages," Tandit said in a commentary to Interfax on Wednesday evening.
On January 10 Savchenko published on her Facebook page the lists of prisoners captured in the breakaway areas of the Donbas region and of Ukrainians held at Russian prisons and in Crimea, as well as a list of persons whom leaders in the Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics (DPR and LPR) wish to retrieve from Ukraine.
In particular, the parliamentarian published a list of 41 Ukrainians (with their full names and dates of birth), who are being held and were confirmed by the DPR and LPR. She also made available a list with such information regarding 121 Ukrainians requested by Ukraine.
The lists of hostages published by Savchenko are incorrect; besides, such a step could harm their families, Tandit said. Fraudsters have been calling relatives posing as LPR and DPR authorized representatives, promising the person's release for a reward, he said.
