MOSCOW. Jan 12 (Interfax) - Moscow hopes that the incoming United States administration will abandon the policy aimed at increasing military presence near the Russian borders in Europe.
"We hope that the new U.S. administration will not follow the lead of this clearly dead-end line, and a line, one could say, provoking a confrontation between our countries," Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said at a briefing on Thursday.
Any such steps will be taken into account in Russian defense planning, she said.
