BAKU. Jan 16 (Interfax) - The Azerbaijani Defense Ministry has accused Armenia of escalating tensions in the frontline.
"In the evening of January 15, the Armenian army conducted intensive bombardments of Azerbaijani positions in the Terter - Agdam sector for several hours, using 60mm, 82mm and 120mm mortars. The Azerbaijani army suffered no casualties," the ministry said in a report.
Azerbaijani troops returned fire and forced the hostiles to cease the bombardment, the ministry said.
"The Defense Ministry places responsibility for escalating tensions on the frontline on the Armenian military-political regime. The Azerbaijani army is controlling the situation throughout the frontline," it said.
