MOSCOW. Jan 16 (Interfax) - The Ukraine settlement will be a focal point in Russia-U.S. relations, the Kremlin said.
"As to the Ukraine issue, we can definitely presume with a high degree of probability that it will be on the agenda of the future Russian-U.S. dialogue," Kremlin press secretary Dmitry Peskov said.
"The way the debates, the exchange of opinions develops will largely depend on the stance of the next administration in Washington," he said.
As to whether Moscow had been preparing proposals on the settlement of the Ukraine crisis, which triggered deterioration of Russia-West relations, the Kremlin press secretary said, "I disagree with the part that it was the trigger of deterioration of West-Russia relations."
He added that "relations did not deteriorate with some of the West."
