Contact Group meeting opens in Minsk (Part 2)

KYIV. Jan 16 (Interfax) - The meeting of participants in the Trilateral Contact Group on the Donbas settlement opened in Minsk, Belarus on Monday afternoon.

"The meeting of the Trilateral Contacts Group has begun in Minsk," Darka Olifer, spokesperson for Ukrainian representative to the Trilateral Contact Group and second Ukrainian President Leonid Kuchma, said on her Facebook page.

The self-proclaimed republics of Donbas confirmed the fact that the Contact Group meeting opened on Monday.

"The Contact Group meeting has started in Minsk," the Luhansk Inform Center quoted Vladislav Deinego, representative of the self-proclaimed Luhansk People's Republic at the talks, as having said.

The self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) said that this is the first Contact Group meeting so far this year.

"The agenda includes observance of the regime of calm, implementation of the Decision on disengagement of forces and weapons, as well as resumption of the functioning of the economic subgroup," Viktoria Talakina, spokesperson for the DPR chief negotiator, Denis Pushilin, told reporters.
