Kremlin sees attempts to recruit Russian diplomats in U.S. as unfriendly course, hopes for higher level of trust in future

MOSCOW. Jan 17 (Interfax) - The multiple attempts of U.S. security services to recruit Russian diplomat exhibit an unfriendly course towards Russia, Kremlin press secretary Dmitry Peskov said.

"This demonstrates that Russian missions abroad are actually experiencing constant pressure, and intelligence data is constantly being collected, often by rather aggressive means. This shows that the course towards Russia has been rather unfriendly," Peskov told the press on Tuesday.

"We regret that Washington has been applying such methods and we hope that a higher level of mutual trust and respect will eventually be attained in the bilateral relations," he said.
