MOSCOW. Jan 18 (Interfax) - Over 1,100 populated localities have already joined the ceasefire in Syria, the Russian Defense Ministry said.
"Agreements on joining the reconciliation process were signed with heads of 1,135 populated localities to date," Lt. Gen. Sergei Rudskoi, head of the Main Operative Directorate of the Russian Armed Forces' General Staff, said at a briefing on Wednesday.
Roads, infrastructure and social facilities damaged in hostilities are restored in them, energy and water are supplied, he said. "Thus, all conditions to live in peace are created," Rudskoi said.
