Russia may have 11 ships at Tartus, including nuclear-powered ones - document

MOSCOW. Jan 20 (Interfax) - Russia can deploy up to eleven warships at the Syrian port of Tartus, including those with a nuclear propulsion unit, according to the Russian-Syrian agreement to expand the Russian Navy's base in Tartus.

"The maximum number of Russian warships permitted at any one time at the technical supply base is eleven, including military ships with a nuclear propulsion unit, on the condition of complying with nuclear and environmental safety," according to the document published on the official legal information portal on Friday.
