MOSCOW. Jan 20 (Interfax) - The State Duma may ratify the agreement on the Russian Navy's base in Tartus, Syria, next week, the Federation Council on February 1, First Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee for Defense and Security, Frants Klintsevich, said.
"I think the agreement to expand the Russian naval base in Syria's Tartus will be ratified by the State Duma in the very near future. Maybe even next week. In that case, the Federation Council will have time to approve the relevant bill on February 1, the day of its plenary session," Klintsevich was quoted by his press office as having said.
