Air defense aircraft, crews to destroy mock enemy equipment near Kaliningrad

MOSCOW. Jan 24 (Interfax) - The Baltic Fleet's ground and coastal troops will hold a live fire exercise in the Kaliningrad region, using small arms, grenades, BMP-2 infantry fighting vehicles and T-72 tanks against a mock enemy's tracked and wheeled vehicles and personnel, the Western Military District said.

"The fleet's naval aviation and air defense crews will execute a number of combat assignments with the coastal troops simultaneously," the district's spokesperson said in a statement obtained by Interfax-AVN on Monday.

The exercise involves the Baltic Fleet's ground and coastal, naval aviation and air defense units and naval engineers, the Western Military District said.
