Patrushev, advisor to Indian PM discuss anti-terrorism cooperation - Russian Security Council's press service

MOSCOW. Jan 31 (Interfax) - Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev and Ajit Doval, national security advisor to the Indian prime minister, discussed cooperation in the fight against terrorism and issues of international and regional security at a meeting in Moscow on Tuesday.

"Nikolai Patrushev and Ajit Doval have discussed a wide array of issues of Russian-Indian cooperation with an emphasis on combating terrorism. Issues of ensuring international and regional security were also a subject of consultation," the press service for the Russian Security Council told Interfax.

"The sides pointed out that that the privileged level of strategic partnership between Russia and India has a significant impact on ensuring stability in the world," the Russian Security Council said.

Doval is paying a visit to Moscow on January 30-31 at the invitation of Patrushev. "Their meetings are a part of regular high-level consultations between Russia and India. The sides have agreed to declare 2017 the year of the history of Russian-Indian relations due to the 70th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relations between the two countries celebrated this year," the press service said.
