Commander of next Soyuz MS-07 to fly to ISS could be replaced by backup - source (Part 2)

MOSCOW. Feb 2 (Interfax) - The crew commander of the Soyuz MS-07 due to be launched from Baikonur to the International Space Station (ISS) in October could be replaced by his backup, a source in the space rocket industry told Interfax.

"The crew of the Soyuz MS-07 transport manned spacecraft due to fly to the ISS at the end of October will most likely have its commander replaced. Instead of Alexander Skvortsov, his backup Anton Shkaplerov is expected to be sent on the flight," the source said, without giving reasons for the replacement.

The crew is also expected to include NASA astronaut Scott Tingle and JAXA astronaut Norishige Kanai.

Roscosmos did not confirm the report to Interfax.
