BUDAPEST. Feb 2 (Interfax) - The crisis in Ukraine can be settled only by fulfilling the Minsk Agreements, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said.
"Hungary is interested in the Minsk Agreements being unconditionally implemented. We see no other solution," he said at a press conference following talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The Hungarian prime minister said that his country has been taking every effort to fulfill these agreements.
Hungary is interested in a stable and successful Ukraine, Orban also said.
"We are doing everything that we can do within the framework of Ukrainian-Hungarian cooperation in the interest of the creation of a stable Ukraine. But peace is a starting point, and peace is possible only on the basis of the Minsk Agreements," he said.
"We are interested in the implementation of the Minsk Agreements, because it will settle the situation not only in these two regions [Luhansk and Donetsk regions], but also will settle other issues, for instance, will provide democratic rights to ethnic minorities. The discussion, which is now ongoing regarding the language of learning in Ukraine, is not beneficial for the Hungarian minority," the Hungarian prime minister also said.
