Jordan's reps say most groups operating in southern Syria ready to cease hostilities - Russian Defense Ministry

MOSCOW. Feb 7 (Interfax) - Most groups operating in southern Syria are ready to join the ceasefire, according to Jordanian representatives in Astana, the head of the Russian General Staffs's Main Operative Department, Lt. Gen. Sergei Rudskoi said.

"It's for the first time that Jordanian representatives were present at the meeting and they told details about the situation in southern Syria. They emphasized that an overwhelming majority of armed groups [there] are supporting the cessation of hostilities regime, adding that those who have not yet joined it [the regime], are ready to do it shortly," Rudskoi said.
