Moscow calls on Syrian opposition to show utmost constructive approach at Geneva talks

MOSCOW. Feb 9 (Interfax) - Russian presidential envoy for the Middle East and Africa, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov has received the delegation of the National Coalition for Syrian Revolution and Opposition Forces, or the Syrian National Coalition (SNC), and personally, SNC Vice-President Abdul Ahad Steifo and political bureau members Hadi al-Bahra and Badr Jamous.

"The parties had a detailed exchange of views regarding the situation in Syria and around, with an emphasis on the set of issues related to political settlement of the crisis in the Syrian Arab Republic, and in particular, the inclusive intra-Syrian talks under the aegis if the UN planned in Geneva on February 20," the Russian Foreign Ministry said.

"The Russian side expressed a strong wish that all the main groups of the Syrian opposition show an utmost constructive approach based on UN Security Council Resolution 2254 and be guided by higher interests of Syria and Syrian people," the ministry said.
