Consequences of new outbreak of tensions in Karabakh to be more severe - Armenian Foreign Ministry

YEREVAN. Feb 15 (Interfax) - Armenia should get ready for any scenario in the Karabakh conflict zone, as a new outbreak of tensions may have more severe consequences than the events of April 2016, Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister Shavarsh Kocharyan said.

"April 2016 proved that Armenia should prepare for any reckless moves on the part of Azerbaijan. In fact, we knew it even before April," Kocharyan said at an expert meeting titled 'Breaking the Stepanakert siege. 25 years after' in Yerevan.

"Azerbaijan will suffer heavier consequences in case of another attack," he said.

At the moment, Nagorno-Karabakh "is focused on the process of its international recognition," Kocharyan said.
