Russian presidential special envoy Lavrentyev hopes that agreements following second round of talks in Astana will strengthen ceasefire in Syria

ASTANA. Feb 15 (Interfax) - Alexander Lavrentyev, the head of the Russian delegation and Russian presidential special envoy on Syria, said he is hoping that the adoption of documents by the joint task force on Syria will help strengthen the ceasefire in Syria.

"This group [joint task force] is working on very important documents, it will take some time to approve and adopt them. We are hoping that the adoption of these documents will help us considerably strengthen the ceasefire in Syria, which is a guarantee further successful Syrian settlement," Lavrentyev told a briefing in Astana.

He also said the adoption of the documents in Astana will help ensure entry "of the political track and launch such inclusive intra-Syrian negotiation process that will help find acceptable solutions to this lengthy conflict."
