Fight against ISIL should go on in Syria, Iraq in parallel- head of Russian delegation in Astana

ASTANA. Feb 16 (Interfax) - The fight against ISIL (a terrorist organization, banned in Russia) must continue in Iraq and Syria in parallel, according to Alexander Lavrentyev, head of the Russian delegation at the talks in Astana.

"The fight against evil such as DAESH [the Arabic for Islamic State] must continue not only on Syrian territory, but in parallel, both on Syrian and in Iraqi territories. We are sincerely wishing a swift victory to the Iraqi armed forces and the forces supporting the Iraqi army," he told a press conference in Astana on Thursday.
