TBILISI. Feb 16 (Interfax) - Georgian Defense Minister Levan Izoria on Thursday in Brussels met U.S. Assistant Secretary of Defense for International Security Affairs Kenneth Handelman in the wings of the NATO-Georgia Committee session.
The Georgian Defense Ministry press service reports that the meeting focused on issues of bilateral and multilateral cooperation and reforms conducted in Georgia paying special attention to "Russia's destructive policy with regard to Georgia."
The press service quoted the Georgian Defense Minister as saying that "despite the balanced policy of the Georgian government Russia continues to pose a security threat to Georgia."
"Levan Izoria voiced hope that the new U.S. administration will render stronger practical assistance to Georgia in restraining Russia's aggressive policy," the press service said.
