Russia, Uruguay sign defense cooperation agreement in Moscow

MOSCOW. Feb 16 (Interfax) - Russia and Uruguay have signed an intergovernmental agreement on defense cooperation as part of an official visit by Uruguayan President Tabare Vazquez.

The parties also signed a memorandum between their customs services on sharing statistical data and bilateral trade; a memorandum of understanding between the two countries' foreign ministries on cooperation in the field of archives; and issued a joint statement on the prevention of an arms race in the outer space.

Also, Roscongress foundation and Uruguay's investment and export promotion agency signed an agreement on the sidelines of the talks.
