BONN. Feb 16 (Interfax) - New U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson has reaffirmed U.S. President Donald Trump's willingness to overcome the current period in bilateral relations with Russia undermined by the previous administration.
"Rex Tillerson reaffirmed the willingness expressed by President Trump to overcome this period and eliminate all superficial and artificial factors, understanding that, surely, there will always be issues requiring coordination and resolution, and, of course, we can't overcome all differences at one sitting," Lavrov said following his first meeting with Tillerson on Thursday.
"We also touched upon bilateral relations, which were significantly undermined by the Obama administration, especially during its final months," he said.
