MOSCOW. Feb 16 (Interfax-AVN) - The chiefs of general staff of Russia and the United States met in Baku, Azerbaijan, where they agreed on joint measures to reduce tensions and prevent the risk of incident occurrence, the Russian defense ministry said.
"[The parties] outlined areas of the joint work of increasing military security, reducing tensions and the risk of incident occurrence," according to a statement obtained by Interfax-AVN on Thursday.
Russia's Chief of the Army General Staff, General of the Army Valery Gerasimov and the U.S. Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Gen. Joseph Dunford, also "shared their views on the current state of the Russian-U.S. relations and their assessments of the situation in the sphere of international security in Europe, in the Middle East, in North Africa and other key world regions," according to the statement.
