Syrian armed opposition refuses to recognize Iran's role in Syrian truce monitoring

ASTANA. Feb 16 (Interfax) - The armed opposition in Syria refuses to accept Iran as one of the parties to the truce monitoring mechanism, the head of the Syrian armed opposition delegation, Mohammed Allouche, said.

"We also confirmed that Iran's role in Syria is being fully rejected and that [we are] not accepting Iran sending a group to Ghouta. We are not accepting Iran's role and no agreement was reached on the matter," Allouche told a press conference in Astana on Thursday.
