MOSCOW. Feb 17 (Interfax) - Aidar Aganin, a former senior counselor at the Russian embassy to the United States has been appointed head of the Russian mission to the Palestinian National Authority (PNA).
"In keeping with an order issued at the Foreign Ministry, Aidar Aganin has been appointed head of the Russian Federation's mission to the Palestinian National Authority in the city of Ramallah," the ministry said in a statement published on its website on Friday.
Aganin graduated from the Moscow State Institute of International Relations, is fluent in Arabic, English and Hebrew, and holds the diplomatic rank of Counselor 1st Class conferred on him in July 2007, it said.
Aganin has been in diplomatic service since 1990. He has substantial experience in working at the Foreign Ministry's central office and abroad. He served as a counselor at the Russian embassy to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in 2003-2007 and as a senior counselor at the Russian embassy to the U.S. in 2011-2016.
