MOSCOW. Feb 20 (Interfax) - Russia is counting on constructive cooperation with the United States in the war on terrorism, State Duma defense committee head Vladimir Shamanov said.
"International terrorism is a system of communicating vessels. Whenever one head is chopped off, two heads are grown in its place. No one, even a group of countries, can deal with this on their own. As we say, we should do this work all together," Shamanov said at a meeting with foreign military attaches accredited in Moscow at the State Duma on Monday.
"Therefore, we hope for constructive interaction, first of all, with [U.S.] President [Donald] Trump," he said.
It is also important to fight terrorism jointly with European leaders, Shamanov said.
"The world needs to pool efforts to overpower global threats," he said.
