HMEIMIM. Feb 22 (Interfax) - The Russian military have conducted six humanitarian operations in the city of Aleppo and another one in Dahiyat al-Matar in the Damascus governorate in the past 24 hours, the Russian center for reconciliation of opposing sides in Syria said in a bulletin on Wednesday.
"Some 3.79 tonnes of bread and 500 portions of hot food were distributed in the Aleppo city districts of al-Basel Sheikh Najara, Sheikh Saeed, Qasiliyah and Sheikh Maqsood and schools in the Southern New Aleppo and Ashrafiyah districts. Some 400 food care packages were handed over to people in Dahiyat al-Matar in the Damascus province," it said.
In all, humanitarian aid has been delivered to 3,040 residents over the past day. Humanitarian supplies totaled 5.6 tonnes, the center said.
In addition, Russian planes airdropped 20.3 tonnes of humanitarian supplies (food), which had earlier been donated to Syrian authorities by the United Nations, in the Deir-ez-Zor area, it said.
