Results of inquiry into cause of Churkin's death should be passed to Russia via formal channels - Russian Foreign Ministry (Part 2)

MOSCOW. Feb 22 (Interfax) - Moscow insists that the United States should inform Russia on the findings of an inquiry into the cause of death of Russian Permanent Representative to the United Nations Vitaly Churkin via formal channels, without allowing any news leaks, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said.

"We believe that this information should be delivered to Russia, first and foremost, through official channels; [Churkin's] family, his next of kin, should be the first to learn of this examination's results," Zakharova said at a press briefing on Wednesday.

Moscow "has with perplexity familiarized itself with U.S. news leaks related to the inquiry into the cause of death of the Russian envoy," she said.
