Twelve truce breaches confirmed in Syria in past 24 hrs - Russian Defense Ministry

MOSCOW. Feb 27 (Interfax) - The Russian party recorded 11 ceasefire violations, the Turkish one - 12 in Syria in the past 24 hours, but almost all of them were not confirmed, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Sunday.

"The Russian part of the representative office of the Russian-Turkish joint committee dealing with the breaches of the Single Agreement recorded 11 violations in the governorates Damascus (3), Latakia (3), Hama (4) and Homs (1)," the Center for reconciliation of the opposing sides said in a statement posted on the Russian Defense Ministry's website.

The Turkish party recorded 12 truce breaches, five in the Homs governorate, three in the Damascus governorate, two in the Hama governorate, one in the Idlib governorate and Aleppo each, it said.

"During the inquiry into these incidents the Russian part of the representative office confirmed one transgression of the regime of cessation of hostilities, other 11 were not confirmed," the reconciliation center said.
