MOSCOW. Feb 27 (Interfax) - Turkey will end its military operation in Syria after taking Manbij and establishing a safe zone around it, Turkish presidential advisor Ilnur Cevik said.
"After Manbij is taken, the Arab population returns there, and a 90km safe zone is established, Turkey will stop its operation in Syria," Cevik said at a conference dealing with Russian-Turkish relations held in Moscow on Monday.
"Turkey will continue the offensive on Manbij," he said.
"Turkey is trying to create a 90km safe zone there. Militants from the Kurdish Democratic Union now control 85% of the territory of Manbij and its outskirts. Turkey will now do everything to return the Arab population there, to cleanse it from militants," he said.
