'Peace plan' author Ukrainian MP Artemenko says he agreed all his visits to Moscow with SBU

KYIV. Feb 27 (Interfax) - Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada deputy Andriy Artemenko has agreed all his visits to Moscow with the leadership of the Ukrainian Security Service (SBU), the deputy said.

"I confirm that I visited Moscow. All my visits were agreed with the SBU's top officials," he said at a press conference in Kyiv on Monday.

Artemenko also said that he did not discuss his 'plan' with Russian representatives or members of the Opposition Bloc party in Ukraine.

The Ukrainian Prosecutor General's Office is investigating a case against Artemenko for "anti-government actions in collaboration with Russia," and it is highly likely that a recommendation to strip him of parliamentary immunity will be introduced to the Verkhovna Rada.

The New York Times newspaper reported earlier that Artemenko passed to the administration of U.S. President Donald Trump his plan on settling the Ukrainian conflict. In particular, the plan involves holding an all-Ukrainian referendum on whether Ukraine should lease Crimea to Russia "for a term of 50 or 100 years" and "the withdrawal of all Russian forces from eastern Ukraine."

Artemenko's plan was passed to Trump's then national security advisor Michael Flynn, who has now resigned, through Trump's personal lawyer Michael Cohen, who is married to a Ukrainian woman, the newspaper said.
