MOSCOW. March 7 (Interfax-AVN) - The tests of the MiG-35 state-of-the-art fighter are keeping up with the relevant schedule and will last two more years, MiG Corporation general director Ilya Tarasenko said.
"Tests are scheduled for the next two years. The aircraft has been operating marvelously so far. I think that we are keeping up with the testing schedule," Tarasenko said on-air with the Ekho Moskvy radio station.
A contract to ship MiG-35s to the Russian Armed Forces has yet to be signed, he said.
"We have a contract with the Defense Ministry for the development of the aircraft, that is why we have produced two aircraft as part of the contract and started tests," he said.
"We are making performance tests and testing the aircraft control system. Naturally, the test program includes the use of all types of aerial weapons, but we are at the stage of performance tests," he said.
