MOSCOW. March 7 (Interfax) - Militants from the ISIL terrorist group (banned in Russia) have been ousted from more than 120 populated localities in Syria since the beginning of this year, the Russian Defense Ministry said.
"The number of inhabited areas, which have been liberated by the Syrian troops from ISIS armed formations has reached 124," the Russian reconciliation center in Syria said.
Over the past 24 hours, the Syrian government army seized control of 90 square kilometers of territory, according to the Center. "The government troops have liberated 2,824.7 square kilometers since January 1, 2017," the Russian military said.
Over the past 24 hours, the number of armed groups ready to observe the ceasefire has increased to 127, the Center said.
