Putin, Netanyahu compared notes on Mideast situation on Thursday, planned no decisions - Peskov (Part 2)

MOSCOW. March 10 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu compared notes on the situation in the Middle East at their meeting in the Kremlin on Thursday and had no plans to make any decisions as a result of this meeting, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

"The president of Russia has been maintaining quite intensive dialogue with Prime Minister Netanyahu. Yet another meeting of this kind was held yesterday. The main goal was to exchange opinions and compare notes on the situation in the region, which is certainly far from being stable. And since all this is happening not only in the vicinity of our borders, but also in the immediate proximity of Israel's borders, this certainly remains a source of constant concern of our Israeli partners," he said.

"This is precisely what the parties exchanged opinions on," he said.

"No goal to adopt any decisions had been set. It was exactly comparing of notes," Peskov said.

A considerable part of the discussion between Putin and Netanyahu was dedicated to issues concerning bilateral interaction, the spokesman said.

"They literally went through the list of issues present on the bilateral agenda," he said.

"It is literally a to-do list - it is both issues of humanitarian interaction, as well as issues of trade and economic cooperation," Peskov said.
